| dc.description.abstract | Seismic lines HPK98A-40,HPK96-03,HPK98A-30,HPK98A-36,HPK96- 08,08E obtained from Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC), were shot by OGDCL in 1998 in the area of Zamzama (study area) which lies in the Kirthar fold belt in the Lower Southern Indus Basin. The 2D seismic lines were interpreted to understand the structural deformation of sedimentary sequence and the possibility of migration of hydrocarbons to the available structures. Zamzama North 01 Well was used to confirm the reflectors depth. The interpretation included the construction of time and depth contour maps, 3D surfaces of Nari, Kirthar, Girdu sandstone and Pab sandstone horizons. Time contour maps of the reflectors were produced using two way time of the reflectors. The interpretation of the reflectors showed that the area was structurally deformed due to the collision between Indian and Eurasian plates in Early Eocene traps for hydrocarbons were developed in the anticlines as they truncated against the thrust fault. The tectonic history inferred the age of the faults as Miocene to Recent. | en_US |
