dc.description.abstract | Qadirpur Gas Field is situated in the Ghotki District of Sindh, Pakistan. Qadirpur area lies in the Southern part of the Middle Indus Basin which exhibits the transtensional regime and the structural geometry is strongly influenced by the Sulaiman Fold and Thrust Belt. There is a well-developed petroleum system in Qadirpur study area. The current study is focused on subsurface geological setting of the area using seismic data and utilizing petrophysics to get the information about porosity, effective porosity, volume of shale and the saturation of hydrocarbons in the reservoir zones. Well tops encountered in Qadirpur-01, Qadirpur-14 and Qadirpur-15 were marked on the seismic sections. The Sui Main Limestone was considered as primary target in the study area. Faults were marked keeping in view horizon breakage and character. Horizons were identified through Seismic interpretation of the seismic sections. Time and depth contour maps are generated on Sui Main Limestone, Habib Rahi Limestone and Pirkoh Limestone to understand the subsurface structures of Qadirpur study area. Isopach maps are generated to understand the depositional trend and thickness of reservoir stratigraphic rock units. The wells Qadirpur-01, Qadirpur-14 and Qadirpur-15 are used for petrophysical analysis of Sui Main Limestone. The Qadirpur-01 showed existence of two favourable zones of potential hydrocarbon reservoirs in Sui Main Limestone. The well Qadirpur-14 and Qadirpur-15 each one showed three favourable zones of potential hydrocarbon reservoirs, marked in Sui Main Limestone. Purpose of this research is to evaluate the subsurface structures, reservoir architecture and hydrocarbon potential of Eocene carbonate rock units, which were encountered in the wells of Qadirpur gas field, based on seismic interpretation, petrophysical analysis, time contour maps, depth contour maps and Isopach maps. | en_US |
