Abstract:
Today the world economy is facing worst economic slumps and jolting mainly because of great
variations in consumers’ demand and it’s a dog fight going on between local and international /
global players, to grab the business with even nominal profit margins
For this purpose companies are heavily investing in advertisement, research and development
and even in unethical practices to eat dirt to their competitors
But another factor is getting stronger day by day, and this is customer awareness. Now a firm
who is a global player cannot play much with psyche of customers as initially Chinese
companies were doing and no doubt they earned lot of profit and market share through supplying
material or products of different qualities in different regions.
This trick is not that much workable as it was, now customers are aware that which company is
selling what in European region and what in Asian region, because of globalization and
advancement of technology i.e. internet and electronic media.
As I mentioned above, every firm is fighting for small piece of meat (profit) then what makes
them different from each other? The answer is very complex but following is the crux of long
answer and this will be unfolded in my this case study
“Create competitive advantage and achieve business success”
Competitive advantages can be achieved through offering quality products at reasonable prices.
The research design is based on methodology of case study design and done through gathering
data from two different companies of automotive industry of Pakistan. One of them is a pure
local company and the other one is multinational giant in automotive industry
Finally, this case study proposed a solution for Pakistan’s Automotive Industry that Quality
products / services can only be ensured through quality suppliers with ease, including all
logistics on reasonable prices, from suppliers to transformation (if required) and then delivery to
customers. So in this study, our focus is to highlight the critical success factors of quality
management within supply chain management this will help in achieving business excellence.
