Abstract:
With the evolutional and tremendous growth in the field of telecommunication or broadly, the internet of things, the connectivity and networking have been adopted as one of the most important tools today in one's life. People across the globe want to have seamless connectivity to a network using which they can share a large number of data. Hence, with the technological advancements, the demand for high data rate is emerging day by day. However, providing each user the required bandwidth and the services is a way too hectic job for the base station (BS) that ultimately causes the congestion in the overall network. Considering all such factors, a new technology was derived from the concept of Machine to Machine (M2M) communication that is the Device to Device (D2D) communication. D2D communication is a solution through which a high data rate can be achieved while using the spectrum efficiently by the application of the efficient channel scheduling mechanisms. D2D communication has the advantages such as the power efficiency, high data rates and efficient utilization of bandwidth. Device to Device communication is a new topic in the field of communication and cellular networking. Hence have a lot of open- ended research topics exists. In this thesis, I have proposed channel scheduling mechanisms for D2D communication considering the outband scenario. I have modeled the various decision-making scenarios and then I have applied the channel allocation algorithms in each scenario. I have modeled the results for both the single hop and multi-hop communication in Outband D2D. The various factors such as distance, required transmission power, signal to noise ratio and bit error rate have been considered while implementing the algorithms. I have used MA TLAB as a simulating tool for simulating the proposed model. The results of each scenario are compared in the results section to evaluate the best performer in all.
