Abstract:
In this research an accelerated multi stress aging of SiR and epoxy materials were done. The duration of this aging was 5000 hours and weather cycle was designed according to Heavy Electrical Complex, Hattar. The duration of multi stress aging was 5000 hours and it was conducted in lab in an environmental chamber. Different stresses are applied in multi stress aging on insulators in repeating manner (called Weather Cycles) which show real service environmental situations. The applied stresses include UV-A, temperatures, electric stress (DC voltages 2.5kV) and day and night cycles. This work is unique in its nature because of such a long term accelerated multi stress aging which has not been done by any researcher previously in the history. The analyses were made using, visual observation, measurement of insulation resistance, hydrophobicity classification, and leakage current. Material analysis techniques, such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were used for detailed analysis. From the result and discussion chapter, it is concluded these prepared hybrid composites, micro and Nano of epoxy and SiR have achieved exceptionally well for the whole aging period.
