Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a comprehensive solution in which almost every
domain of solution is embedded e.g. Human Resource, IT, Finance, and Production etc.
ERP is based on the latest technology and often generate huge changes in the
organization to fulfill the requirements. ERP challenges the traditional processes, which
take long time to complete and high cost as well, by giving the optimize solution with
the lesser time to complete and cost effective. ERP processes integrate with each other
to generate the results faster. ERP projects create the best coordination between IT,
Finance, and other departments which give desired output. Why do the organizations
select ERP projects? Because, organizations want to improve the efficiency of their
processes with least amount of input.
Loyal customer increases the sales of the organization but loyal customer needs good
response from the organization. They need extra services to attach with the organization
in the long run. Organization needs particular information about every customer e.g.
their likes, dislikes, and the historical behavior about the products. ERP uses this data
with improved response time and make this information available to the management.
Now, the management takes decision on the basis of the data, launch new product(s) in
the market with the feedback of customers, or to improve the quality of services or
product.
ERP needs educated user to access the system that has the knowledge of subjected
domain of work. User needs particular skills to use the system. For example, data entry
operators must be able to use the computer, of course.
Pakistani market is a good place for implementation of ERP. Organizations feel the
difference in the productivity and the performance of employees after implementing the
ERP. Banking industry is also using the ERP systems. Many banks in Pakistan, like
HBL, have implemented the oracle based ERP system. |
