Abstract:
This research paper investigates the relationship between the independent board of directors and
the firm performance with the reference of publicly listed Pakistani firms. Especially in KSE-100
using three performance measures ROE, ROA and Tobin’s Q. The researcher have taken sample
of 30 listed Firm in KSE-100 was randomly selected. Regression Analysis was selected to verify
the hypothesis: Greater representation by independent directors on the board has a positive
impact on firm performance.
Empirical results show that there is no statistically significant relationship between the greater
representation by outsider directors and the firm performance.
