Abstract:
IEEE 802.15.4 standard is designed for Low Power Wireless Personal Area Networks (LRWPAN). End devices in 802.15.4 use passive scanning to find the coordinator. The latency of passive scanning to find the coordinator is depends on the Beacon Intervals (BI) of the coordinator. If the BI is high than the end devices takes long time to find the coordinator for association. The exchange of association messages between coordinator and end devices is high because of the response time. It is the time in which the coordinator registers the end device and assign a network address. To decrease the response time, we propose Sink to Sink Coordination (SSC) for early registration of the mobile end device. In SSC during mobility of end devices the BI of the neighbor coordinator is reduce. The proposed scheme eliminates the need of the response time for early registration of the end devices. SSC shows better results than IEEE 802.15.4 and other algorithms.
