Abstract:
The aim of this research is to create awareness of maritime among general public, and
how this sector can be developed to generate the economic activities. The first chapter of
this report describes the importance of maritime sector in our life, and trends of
developed/developing countries to lookafter this sector as it is considered the major
player in national economy. The methodology used for this research is descriptive type
and qualitative in terms.
The trends are analyzed with Pakistan. The potential of maritime sector of Pakistan is
discussed explored and unexplored. Maritime sector in Pakistan is suffering mainly due
to land locked thinking at upper level. This sector is not considered significantly for its
growth since Pakistan came into being. This sector is given least priority for investment
by the government officials.
I have suggested exploring the offshore natural resources living and non-living to take
advantage of these resources upto optimum level. Our resources have potential to take
our dear homeland out of financial crisis. This sector needs less investment and has
potential of outcomes many times of the capital invested.
