Abstract:
This thesis concentrates on human resource development contribution in performance
management. It is tried to ponder over the availability of HR practices and application
in three contributing sectors of Pakistan economy namely government, private and
banking. This thesis report is mainly divided into two parts one is human resource
development and other is performance management. However, what has been tried is
to check and validate HR practices within institutions and the application of procedure
and policy in respect of personnel needs analysis, career development, career
planning, socialization, employee wellness, orientation, succession planning, training,
career management, talent management and stress management.
On the other side, this instant report covers effects made on delivering performance
and its management for befitting employees at the fullest. The specifics of
performance management are covered in this report are performance evaluation,
performance appraisal approaches & methods, incentives, benefits, pay packages and
promotion. Hence, the respondents are 100 in number who have equally contributed
during survey from government, private and banking sectors to provide essential and
valuable remarks and responses that what their institutions are offering them, how
they are being taken care and what they are given when they require for working
efficiently and effectively in order to generate required state of performance for
creating entitlement of vested benefits as per policy and procedure in vogue.
Institutions are looking to overexert lacking in HR practices and application in letter
and spirit in comparison with international standards so that just and equitable
treatment for all employees could be provisioned. The benchmarking so far, has not
attended desired results in Pakistan but efforts are in the wake of unrest to make the
situation more patient and deliverable. However, some institutions are in planning phase, some institutions are on the way in line with and some institutions are at initial
breakthrough point to manage and materialize the actual standards of HR policies,
practices and procedure for the betterment, motivation and encouragement of
employees within and outside the institutions.
It is transparently emerged that prevailing multinational corporations’ setup and
facilitation practices for employees in comparison with government and banking
sectors are in winsome situation. Hence, the slow upward movement for achieving
better developed human resource, technically sound workforce and obtaining &
maintaining standardized performance is in continuum.
In terse, the detailed report for having much clearer picture of this instant thesis to
portray its results cogently and corroboratively for the application within institutions
is presented hereunder for meaningful deliberations and insightful understandings.
