Abstract:
The thesis is dealing with one of the current issues HR is facing in today’s era that is work-life
balance. The research is dedicated to analyze the work-life balance practices in Private Banks of
Pakistan. Work life conflict is the most important problem the businesses are facing and it has a
negative effect on employee performance and the overall performance of the organization.
Therefore, if organizations fail to resolve this issue then it might impact on them in a severe
manner. The reason behind selecting this topic for private banks is that because of increased
work pressure and extended working hours in Banks, employees are threatened by stress and
depression at any point of time. Constant mind disturbed circumstances allows person’s other
responsibilities to get effected and hence it is commonly observed that employees facing such
situation will have a routine problem towards their families as they are unable to justify their
family life. The study also comments on different perceptions people have regarding work life
balance, and what bank employees think that what measures should be taken to improve work
life balance which impacts their productivity. The idea behind conducting this research is to
analyze and realize the importance of work-life balance in Banks in current span of time when
other firms and companies are continuously putting their attention towards this burning issue.
The rules and policies are not clearly defined in Banks regarding work life balance, so new
defined policies can be made to support work life balance and minimize the extent of work life
conflict.
