Abstract:
Voice command and control application for android works with user commands to
perform certain tasks like user can fetch information from Wikipedia using voice
commands; user can ask this software to define any word of choice or ask weather
conditions and can also fetch and search information from Google and if user is
boredom then can ask this software to narrate a joke. This application is of special
interest as it does not require any other input from user other than voice commands
but if user wants can also give text input but this is secondary option and it is an
additional feature added just if there is problem with user’s accent or user is not able
to pronounce a particular word user can give hints to the system about that word and
can get the results in response. In future, this application can be enhanced further and can be made a single application doing each and every task a mobile user can think of like making a call, sending a text message, playing songs, sending and receiving e-mails, setting up sleep alarms, scheduling tasks, setting up reminder for meetings, updating status on face book, tweeting, and integrating other applications with this to make it a great application. This voice recognition system can also be enhanced further in any other language, so if a user who is not much literate and does not know English then if that user can get application in his native language would help that user a lot.
