Abstract:
The topic addressed by this study is of the current circumstances of supporting industries in
Pakistan’s machinery sector, in particular to their development in weaponry and shipbuilding for
the industries of Pakistani Marines. It has also been addressed in the paper that how development
of supporting industries in Pakistan’s machinery sector indicates new trends and factors in
development of industries in the developing countries. The research methodology followed was
descriptive and based on the quantitative data collection from 25 officers and suppliers each. The
survey results were analyzed with the help of statistical analyses of regression. The findings of
the study shown that there is a high potential of localization in Pakistan navy supply chain, but
they require quality orientation and sustainability. The impact of perception was found negative
and of external factors and quality orientation was found positive on localization potential. The
limitation of the study was small sample size and mono method of data collection.
