BENEFITS OF E-BUSINESS TOOLS IN SUPPLY CHAIN INTEGRATION

Abstract

Purpose-The aim of this research study is to find out the benefits of the E-Business tools and to test those benefits in the FMGC companies for achieving supply chain integration. This research is also aims in order to know about the use and experience of E-Business tools in Pakistani environment. Methodology/sample- Data is collected through the research questionnaire. The collected data has been analyzed through descriptive (graphs) and inferential statistics (regression and correlation) Reliability test is also performed to know about the reliability of the collected data. Total population for this research is around 180 to 240. Sample size of 100 is being selected based on the random selection. Findings-E- business supply chain tools like Electronic Data Interchange, Bar coding and Scanner, Warehouse Management Systems, Order Processing and Tracking System, Production, Planning & Scheduling System and Customer Relationship Management System helps in providing the integration in supply chain management in FMGC in Karachi. However, inventory management system and transportation management system tools are not being effectively utilizing for achieving the integration benefits. Practical Implications-This research is of significant worth for FMGC companies to know about the extent of use of their E-business tools and the extent of benefits they are actually utilizing from the use of such tools. By knowing this meaningful information, the selected company could mold their strategy for the better and effective utilization of their implemented E-Business tools for achieving the supply chain integration.
