dc.description.abstract The purpose of this research is to examine the recruitment and selection practices in the modern era of business. The senior human resource officers, who directly report the human resource manager, are the respondents of the research who provide detail information about the organization’s recruitment policies. The organization which is selected for the research is Pakistan Petroleum Limited. Exploratory research is used as it helps to find out the problems in the recruitment process of organization and the research tools are interview and questionnaire. Secondary data like different books, newspaper, official website of organization and other websites, articles and qualitative techniques are used in this research for better result. Information is taken from a small sample through the interviews and questionnaire. After collecting all the information data is presented graphically and interpretations supports the graphs. The graphical representation and interpretation of the gathered information reveals that the organization has medium attrition rate, it does not take feedback from candidates, time consuming recruitment process, lack of recruitment software which provide candidates information about their application status, no flexibility in probation period etc. so they have to adapt the new scientific methods of recruitment and selection by adapting new recruitment software, quarter or semiannual review of policies , probation period for trainees should be elastic to retain their interest and control the attrition rate by taking exit interviews and miscellaneous surveys. en_US
