Abstract:
One thing is certain in today’s global workplace: It will change. With change comes the need to
run interference to ensure that the organization continues to meet its goals. Organizational
development (OD) can assist an organization in achieving homeostasis or balance in the face of
change’s continual impact on processes and people.This literature review offers a comprehensive
look at the history, development and effectiveness of training and development as they may
apply to business firms. Based on the above questionnaire results it is concluded that, Initially
Engro is not well aware of the importance of training and development but keeping an eye on the
competitors and market standing, the company has now initiated extensive training and
development programs for their employees. During an interview with Ahsan Burhan (Manager
Compensation and benefits, Engro) is of the view that, Engro is becoming the market charmer
and at this stage it is necessary for the company to update and upgrade its employees with
different types of strategic training and development programs. Companies who progress in their
business like GE, doesn’t only focuses on ways to create profits but they also make their people
profit earners.
