Abstract:
Nandpur Gas field is situated at a distance of 64 km near District Multan. It was discovered in 1984 by OGDCL, lies in Middle Indus Basin Punjab Platform. Salt layer over Precambrian basement has acted decollement surface, thus resulting in formation of faults bounded anticlinal features, favorable for accumulation of hydrocarbon. The structure is dipping at a gentle angle toward the NW-SE tectonically the area fall in extensional regime and is dominated by Normal faults. Interpretation of seismic lines, time and depth contour maps of Lumshiwal Formation show structural trend of the reservoir dip towards East-South is steeper while towards South-West has gentle anticline. The reservoir is encountered in the Lumshiwal Formation which is further confirmed through well log analysis. The average porosity 22%, average water saturation is 51%, net pay thickness is 92m and OGIP is calculated as 135190 mmscf. The area is important for its hydrocarbon (Oil and Gas) structural traps.
