dc.description.abstract Purpose The aim of this study is to identify the actual progress of green supply chain management process from the procurement to transport in Pharmaceutical companies. The activities I would consider for knowing the progress are; Green procurement, Green manufacturing / production. Green warehousing and Green transportation. Methodology/sample This is a quantitative research where the researcher aims to gather the data via self-administered questionnaires with the aim to study the progress of green supply chain management practices.Population is the employees of Abbott Laboratories and GSK who are involved in Procurement, manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and distribution. Findings The tabulated value from the T Table at 95% confidence level and degree of freedom at 109 is 1.092. The calculated t value at mean of green procurement, warehousing, and overall progress of GSCM is 3.947, 12.238 and 5.220 respectively, these are greater than the tabulated value which means that these variables are in acceptance region. Thus there is sound progress at green procurement, warehousing, and overall progress of GSCM. The value of green production and green transportation is 0.217 and -5.368 respectively which is less than the tabulated value so these variables lies in the rejection region. Thus production and transportation processes in the pharmaceutical companies are not in line with the practices of the green supply chain management. Practical Implication This research will help the management of the pharmaceutical companies to know the weak areas of the green supply chain management practices so that proper strategies could be devised to eliminate the gap. Limitation: The limitation of this research is the scarce time and financial resource. Also there is limitation to full access to the selected companies. en_US
