Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to examine the “The Role of Information
Technology on Nurturing HR Functions and Productivity An Empirical Study of
HR Department of Sui Southern Gas Limited (SSGC)” The aim of this study was to
find the correlation among the five primary Functions of Human Resource and
Information Technology. The reason behind to choose this topic because of information
technology made their presences in that area as well as expands in wider range of IT
applications and Sui southern gas company has follows this practice in current situation.
Methodoiogy/Desiga/Approach: The nature of this study is descriptive and this research
is divided into two parts: first one the theoretical part and second the statistical analysis.
For theoretical part the literature review present and given review on impact on HR
functions in support for analytical proven a researcher conduct a survey on 48
respondents as the middle and top level management staff from the Sui southern gas
company working in Karachi Pakistan.
Findings: The model is good fitted that is confirmed from the findings to facilitate the
two out of five hypotheses. The data was gather from the questionnaire and the results
indicates that the training & development, compensation & benefits, recruitment &
selection, employee laws & relation, and employee health & safety were positively
correlated and level of significant with information technology . The outcomes of
regression analysis showing that the HR function has Leaned by information technology
and also the compensation & benefits and employee health & safety was the strong
predicator of information technology.
Conclusion: Every company use widely information technology systems in the human
resource functions these days because HRIT has great contributed in case of operational,
strategically and transformation level. This study helps for the researcher in future in
terms of theoretical as well as practical implication for the human resources specialist.
