Purpose-The purpose of the research is to highlight the concepts of flexibility in the workplace and analyze the impact of flexible working arrangement on employee’s productivity, to find out how flexible working arrangements have affected their personal and work life and the overall productivity off the organization. This research aims to test the hypothesis that flexible working increases employee’s productivity on the whole.
Methodology/sample-The respondents of study are both males and females. The study involved use of questionnaires filled by 100 respondents. To analyze the data, Regression, Anova, Correlation tests were applied. Data from call centers of Pakistan was also collected to determine the impact of Flexible working arrangements on employee productivity.
Findings-The analysis of the data and findings show that employees at call center are benefitted by applying flexible working arrangements in their work place. Furthermore it also shows that employee productivity is also being positively affected by management benefits and support. The statistical results have proved that employee productivity must depend upon management benefits, flexible working arrangements rather than job
satisfaction.
Practical Implications-There is numbers of people working in call centers and continuous rapid technology development changed traditional ways of working and operating. Nowadays there is a great demand for new innovative business solutions and the ways of managing people effectively. Work is becoming exceptionally disperse around the world allowing growth of 24/7 customer service, home banking, online shopping and other services that seemed to unbelievable just a few years ago. In this speedy environment the companies are looking for any opportunity to increase their competitiveness. Due to high competition, there is high demand to work for longer hours that ultimately result in work life issues and have an adverse affect on employee productivity and wellbeing. Implementing flexible working is considered as an effective tool for most of the organizations. To explore the relationship between flexible working arrangements and employee productivity in Pakistan. The Study find out that employee productivity is positively con-elated with the different types of flexible
working arrangements. The study recommended that call centers should raise the awareness of the management and employees about FWAs programs, its significance and its great impact on employees' productivity. Call centers should support family-friendly organizational
culture and flexible working practices. |
