Abstract:
Purpose- The aim of this research is to identify the issues, either HR based issues or specific
to PI A cultural issues, at PIA which are the main cause of the voluntary separation of
employees at PIA and to explore the strategies that can facilitates the employee retention at
PIA.
Methodology/sample- In this descriptive research the sample size of 244 is selected. Data is collected through the research questionnaire. The collected data has been analyzed through descriptive (graphs) and inferential statistics (regression and t test).
Findings- Organizational issues like political hiring, over employment, low profile hiring, high market demand of PIA employees are the main cause of the de-motivation of employees at PIA which cause them to voluntary separation from PIA and join the competitor’s airline. Human Resource base issues like biased promotion, gender bias practice and lack of employee development and career path are also the secondary issues for employee voluntary separation from PIA.
Practical Implications- This research is of significant worth for PIA and the regulatory body of PIA to know about the reason of why the real asset- employees of the PIA, are voluntary separating PIA. By knowing this meaningful infonnation, management can devise strategies for facilitating the employees.
