Abstract:
Purpose: This research gives an overview about levels and barriers of supply chain
integration. According to previous researches it was certain that many developing countries
face problems regarding levels and barriers of supply chain integration, this study is
conducted to evaluate the levels and barriers of SC in leading food industry of Pakistan i.e.
Haleeb foods Pakistan.
Methodology: This study is conducted to evaluate level and barriers of supply chain
integration between Haleeb foods and its distributors. For this purpose various distributors of
Haleeb foods were contacted to get the most accurate findings. Around 200 distributors were
contacted from which we got responses of 178 to come up to any result. Various literature
review has also been studied to get the expert opinion. Descriptive statistics and pearson
correlation was also performed to evaluate the data.
Findings: According to the data and findings it has been observed that Haleeb foods and its
distributors doesn’t have strong supply chain integration due to fewer use of levels of supply
chain integration, lack of resources and unstable condition of Pakistan. There are certain
barriers to supply chain integration which highly influence the supply chain integration
between Haleeb foods and its distributors.
Practical implication: This research is a real time study, all data collected is 100% authentic
and can be used for further evaluation and competition analysis. Different companies of
similar industry can use this research for their own interest. Haleeb foods Pakistan can also
improve their supply chain network and relations through empirical data and analysis
presented in this study.
