dc.description.abstract Purpose - The major aim of this study was to explore the factors impeding adoption of RFID technology in Pakistan even after a decade of launch and successful integration of different companies globally. This report also aims to find out the real factors resulting in the impediment of this technology. Methodology/Sample - The study involved use of questionnaires filled by 200 respondents. The respondents belonged to Karachi, Pakistan and were closely linked with the RFID technology from day to day affairs. Data is based from the people of Education Institutes, Supply Chain Companies, Grocery Supermarkets and Network Engineering Companies with people linked with RFID and technical expertise. To analyze the data, Exploratory Factor Analysis was run using IBM SPSS STATISTICS VERSION 20. Findings - The analysis induced to identify the underlying factors in Pakistan's environment regarding the non-adoption of RFID which clearly suggested that there were additional factors that contributed as well to the impeding adoption of RFID in Pakistan regardless of the presented factors. It was also concluded that there was significant relationship among certain factors which were serving as a hindrance in the adoption of RFID in Pakistan. Practical Implications - The outcomes of the research will help the RFID consultants, RFID source providers, training institutes and policy framework developers to understand the benefits of this technology and sort out/identify and overcome the factors resulting as a hindrance in the adoption of this technology in Pakistan. It will also help them to bring about this technology sooner and in abundance. en_US
