Abstract:
Purpose: - The aim to this study was to explore the effectiveness of Electronic Board learning method which involves computer aided learning materials using multimedia,
graphics, audio/video, animations. In Pakistan, mostly educational institutes goes shutdown due to uncertain situation of law and order. In these circumstances course is not covered due to lack in learning credit hours. Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is best option to complete the curriculum. The purpose of dissertation is to find the effectiveness of E-board learning over the conventional learning or face to face class learning.
Methodology/Sample: - A longitudinal study conducted at The Pvt Higher Secondary School, Karachi to explore the effectiveness of E-board learning. First year students of PVT school participated in the study. A sample size of 20 students was observed as 10 students were taught as control group i.e. face to face casual learning and 10 students were taught as experimental group i.e. using E-Board or smart board. Students from same class having same mental state, age group and same teacher studied their lesson. Students are taken from General Science group at PVT school that have course outline domain to complete in particular time. This course of study continued for two weeks and 1 hour mandatory class. A single concept was reviewed in each class to complete the one topic for both groups. Suring the session same quizzes are conducted for both experimental group and controlled group to evaluate the effectiveness of E-Board learning System. A questionnaire was filled by students who used the E-board system to conclude the user interaction and satisfaction with E-board learning. A paired sample T-test applied for both experimental and control group student’s results. Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction survey also evaluated by using T-test to know the satisfaction level of students towards E-board.
Findings: - The analysis and comparative results between control group and experimental group clearly suggested that E-board learning is more comprehend to learn and complete the curriculum With in time. A 9 point likert scale questionnaire containing 15 questions was administered to know the perception of students and usefulness of E-board learning.
Practical Implications: - 80% of students gain remarkable outcome using E-board learning system. Instructor also finds it convenient to use E-board learning system over lecture base learning. Notes are already prepared and Students are more enthusiastic and motivated towards studies, using E-board learning system.
