Abstract:
Entrepreneurship can play a key role in economic revival of any country by reducing unemployment rate and helps in creating business opportunities. This study investigates the Entrepreneurial intention of Business Graduate and Undergraduate towards Entrepreneurship and factor influencing student’s entrepreneurial intention among private universities of Karachi. The study involved use of structured questionnaires, that filled by 200 respondents. The respondent individuals belonged to different age groups, different classes, different universities and having different family background. Data has been collected through questionnaires and from eight universities of Karachi; response rate of questionnaires is 80 percent. Instrument’s reliability has been checked with the help of Cronbach alpha. Data has been analyzed using SPSS software and different quantitative data analysis techniques have been applied such as descriptive statistics and Chi-square test of independence. The analysis and comparative results clearly show suggested that a relation exist between entrepreneurial intention of the students and the variables i.e. gender, prior job experience, personality traits, family & friend support towards entrepreneurship in future and personal attitude towards the behavior and the relation not found between family background or education and role of university. The conclusion of the research might help the universities to create awareness of entrepreneurship among students, and in development of Entrepreneurship courses. This study also helps to government policy makers, to develop the SME sector and generate young blood for entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
