Abstract:
Aims: The main aim of this research is to find out the barriers of SCM (Supply Chain
Management) at Samsung. Samsung is one of most important stakeholder in mobile industry
i after Apple and is share is increasing day by day. The company is of the view to be a brand
leader in the mobile industry therefore it aims in improving its processes all around the world.
Research: The research is qualitative in nature and the type of research followed for this study is
Exploratory. The unit if analysis for this research is Samsung with an aim to find out the barriers
in its SCM management. The sample size taken for this research study 100 respondents and the
data for this is gathered from primary sources i.e. Interviews and Questionnaire.
Findings: The sampling rate of response was 72.99%, this resulted in 100 employees. The
findings from the research show different barriers in SCM. These barriers are inconsistent timely
delivery, planning, demand and forecasting issues. The findings from the research suggest that
these issues can be resolved with the help of technological solutions i.e. implementing an ERP
planning Module and a software for logistics management for example: a VMS. The module will
help in the process of planning.
Practical Implication: : The research concluded that once the planning modules and logistics
software is implemented the process of planning and demand forecasting becomes perfect. This
will helps in customer retention as well as, it also aids in strengthening the future demand for
Samsung mobile phones. If Samsung wants to achieve their goal of being the market leader they
will have to implement this technologically integrated solution which enhances the processes and
efficiency.
