Abstract:
Purpose of the Research- This thesis is based on studying the impact of Information technology
in supply chain management. The basic motive behind this research was that to get to know the
actual advantages of IT in supply chain of PSO Karachi, Pakistan and how they carry their
operations.
Research Design and Sampling- Data was collected through Descriptive quantitative method
by using specifically designed questionnaire for the research study. The population selected for
this research study are the permanent and contractual supply chain employees. The sample size
selected for this research study is 100 respondents. The statistical tools selected for this research
study includes ANOVA and Regression analysis.
Findings of the Result- The findings were revealed that the how electronic data interchange
application practices impacts on supply chain because companies have to maintain its value in
competitive market.
Limitations of the Study- Due to lack ofresources such as privacy in information, lack of time
and city circumstances, research was limited and did not cover all the areas ofsupply chain.
Practical Implication- This study would be useful for the managers, suppliers and buyers
because it includes the clear and deep knowledge about the supply chain concepts and real
practices of EDI applications.
Future Implications- The researcher highlighted certain future implications for other researcher
such as they must cover all the areas ofthe O&G companies to get the exact and accutate tesults.
Secondly, the researcher must try to increase the sample population because with the help of
large sample size, it would be easy to distinguish the practices ofthe Oil and gas companies.
