dc.description.abstract This thesis was carried out with the aim of volumetric estimation and formation evaluation of Khaur area (Tehsil Pindi Gheb, Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan) using seismic and well log data. Seismic lines PDK-111, PDK-105, PDK-106, PDK 107, PDK-108 and PDK-110 along with well tops of well Khaur Oxy-1, navigation files and well logs for the respective well were provided by DGPC. Seismic interpretation has revealed that a pop-up anticline bounded with reverse fault exist in the subsurface acting as a trap for hydrocarbon accumulation. Four formations were marked namely Chorgali, Sakesar, Lockhart and Wargal formation which can prove to be good reservoirs. Petrophysical analysis has unveiled that Zone A within Chorgali Formation is most promising in terms of hydrocarbon potential with the hydrocarbon saturation of about 67.09%. Proved reserves of the Chorgali were found to be about 4.284 mSTB. en_US
