dc.description.abstract In this present work we have conducted experiments using the spectral ratio between horizontal and vertical components (H/V) of microtremors measured at the ground surface to estimate fundamental resonance frequencies, frequency response and thickness of the sedimentary layers. The objective of this research work is to use the H/V technique to define the resonance frequency of a sedimentary layer which is a major contribution in the seismic hazard analysis on a micro level and to measure the thickness of the sedimentary layer. Actually this technique is the part of seismic hazard analysis on the micro level. The work focused on computing noise spectra. The work was largely revolving around the use of the GEOPSY analysis software. en_US
