| dc.description.abstract | The current energy crisis engulfing Pakistan has retarded the economic growth of the country and left its 162 million inhabitants with spasmodic access to electricity. The Demand has far outstripped supply of electricity and the country is currently facing peak power shortages of approximately 4,000 – 4,500 MW. The present electricity demand-supply gap, coupled with consistent growth in demand (7-8% per annum), clearly indicates the critical need for enhancing the country’s current power generation capability. | en_US |
