dc.description.abstract This study attempted to study the impact of motivation on workforce retention at PTCL. Research on motivation practices and their outcome such as employee retention have rarely been conducted in Telecom industry in Pakistan. The sound theoretical framework to describe relationship of motivation and Employee retention is used. This framework identifies a research direction that highlights some basic dimensions that form up testable hypothesis. Data was collected using a closed ended questionnaire using a Likert scale. Sample consisted of 100 employees who are working in different departments of PTCL branches. Questionnaire was filled by three branches of PTCL located in Islamabad. To analyze the results SPSS software was used. Regression and correlation analysis technique was used to test the hypothesis. In this study it was found that alternate hypothesis 1, hypothesis 1a, hypothesis 1b, hypothesis 1c, and hypothesis 1d are accepted and all the null hypothesis are rejected and it was revealed that motivation is positively linked with employee retention. Moreover limitations, future research, and implications for organizations were also discussed. en_US
