Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of few basic HR practices on employee job satisfaction in the public sector organizations of Pakistan where there is a common perception found regarding less satisfied employees. A survey was conducted through a structured questionnaire which was distributed among the employees from different organization under the public sector and a total of 203 respondents were included in the study sample. Reliability, regression and correlation analysis were the statistical tools used to find out the reliability of the data, impact of predictors on response variable and relationship among all the variables respectively. Findings show a significant positive impact of the three independent variables (training & development, employee recognition and employee rewards) on the dependent variable (employee job satisfaction) and a positive relationship among all the variables. The practical implications for HR managers in public sector organization include the use of such HR practices in order to increase the level of job satisfaction among the employees to take the best out of them.
