dc.description.abstract In the developing countries, the growing waste generation rate and their high accumulation costs are the major issues. The main thesis problem is that in a few urban communities, the organic waste are dumped aimlessly causes contamination and unfortunate effects to environment. The purpose of this research is that the Biological processes such as composting after by vermicomposting to change organic waste valuable organic fertilizer would be of extraordinary advantage. Hence this technique is emphasized in this research work. In this paper there are different proportions of cattle dung plant waste and rice husk were taken and performed vermicomposting process in a laboratory experiment using the pile method. The paper discuss about the process various physical parameters pH, electronic conductivity, total dissolved solid, moisture content were analysed during fifteen weeks of composting along with the organic matter changes throughout the vemi-composting process including the humic fractions and spectroscopic measurements including UV-Vis and FTIR. Various studies show that different parameters changes time to time and is favourable for richness, anaerobic conditions, and production of worm cast. The paper explained the nutrient analysis described that high amount of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) is in coir pith vermi-compost, the results showed that vermi-compost is a good fertilizer. The UV-Vis an of compost extracts was used to define the degree of humification in the actively composting material. Spectroscopic characterization of compost humic acids describe changes in their structures during maturation. The composition of this paper can be divided into three parts ;(i) in first two to three weeks rapid decomposition of non humic easily biodegradable matter.(ii) in next two weeks organic matter humification and formation of polycondensed humic-like substances.(iii) in the last week’s stabilization of transformed organic matter and weak microbial activity. Moreover, the paper also includes the effect of pre-composting and vermicomposting on compost characteristics with charts, appendixes and tables. en_US
