Abstract:
In this project, we’ve designed a Maze Solving Transportation Robot that can solve any given maze using efficient algorithms. The basic idea behind choosing this project was the man-driven lifters being used at METRO cash and carry. The only task of those lifters is to pick up the products and place them in their respective stacks. This has increased the need of man power and workers will have to be hired specifically for this task. However, we’ve provided an efficient solution by automating this whole process using an autonomous robot. Our robot will be given a command via GSM about which product to transport, the robot will then solve the maze using the maze solving algorithms that control the motion of the robot using the sensory values. Normally, the maze solving robots are based on the line tracking phenomena; such robots won’t be functional without proper lighting conditions and/or without a line on the floor. What makes our robot more efficient is that it is controlled via ultrasonic sensors and, hence, performs in all the lighting conditions. The fascinating thing about it is that the robot will not only transport the product to the desired location but will also return to the starting point through the shortest path. The robot will totally be adaptive to any kind of maze, which means that any changes made to the maze at the run time, won’t affect the robot’s performance.
