dc.description.abstract The aim of this project is to make an intelligent video surveillance system. In today’s world, the security concerns have grown a great deal especially due to worldwide increase in terrorism over the past decade. Monitoring so far needs a lot of manpower and it involves factor of human error. However to avoid potential human errors an automatic monitoring system can be used. The detection of any abnormal motion can trigger video transmission and recording as well as attract the attention of a human observer and perform any predefined task. So the purpose of this project is to design a surveillance system which will detect any motion in a live video feed, track the moving object and identify any abnormal behavior. The moving object is identified using the image subtraction method. The system employs a novel combination of object detection through temporal differencing algorithm, binarization of the differenced image, object tracking and activity recognition.Te project can be used to enhance surveillance in banks, offices and other sensitive areas in any organization. en_US
