| dc.description.abstract | We are living in an under developed country where there is a serious problem of electricity shortfall. Power demand is more than the power supply. Therefore the use of generators and inverters as Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) is very common. Generators are very expensive that every one cannot afford and inverters have very less efficiency due to transformer losses. We have designed a cheaper and a more efficient inverter without using transformer called a pure sine wave inverter. The controller IC is 8051.Our design consists of three basic modules. A boost converter which will convert a 12V DC wave into 200 V – 220 V DC. A H-bridge which generate a square wave and acts as a DC chopper which gives pulsating DC normally 100-110 Vp-p. the output is then filtered by a capacitive and inductive low pass filter which gives a pure sine wave as output. It is highly suitable for driving the AC devices and house hold appliances. And produces no noise and fewer heat losses. | en_US |
