dc.description.abstract The basic aim of the project was to evaluate the power systems that we have in our homes, industries and commercial areas. To evade the specific threats to the power systems which the project targeted was a meter that monitors energy consumption accurately, this can play a major role in the electricity theft especially in the third world countries, where on the first hand power generation is a menace. The bills that result in the end process can create major ambiguities that are very indocile to handle. So as a result a system was to be designed that was effective and had quiet good repute towards the prepaid billing, The power system will calculate a true RMS value with the help of the voltage and current sensor that will contribute to overcome all this problems. It will also alarm the user in case of electricity theft and hence save the illegal use of electricity in the country. en_US
