| dc.description.abstract | Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) systems are not suitable for complex data analysis. The objective of the project is to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) by developing the Business Intelligence (BI) Application for Shezan Industries. At present, Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) system was used by the management of Shezan Industries but it was not suitable for complex data analysis. Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) service is an approach to answer multi dimensional questions. Data was collected from each station separately. The OLAP involves collecting data from various sources and loading into Business Intelligence system for single analytical view and decision support. The OLAP system was implemented on a data warehouse which was built in such a way that minimizes latency of the analytical queries using the existing data from an OLTP system. The OLAP provides not only answers to business questions but also provides different query patterns for decision making. The OLAP system also keeps historical data and retrieves results within minimum time. Business Intelligence Application presents data in the form of reports and charts for better understanding to the management for their decision making. | en_US |
