Earlier learning management systems were not as developed as they are now, they lacked many modern features especially cloud support. The concept of managing learning/ teaching systems started back in 1920 when an idea of shifting education and training from classroom premises to students with the help of latest technology was introduced. Learning management systems provide learning materials, resources and test samples for the students, researchers or work force. Such systems provide a variety of facilities to students, self-learners and researchers especially who are studying online. By providing study material to students, enabling a chat platform between students and faculty, providing exam checking and grading capabilities, such systems greatly help these people in learning and communication [1]. These management systems are the framework that deals with all aspects of the learning process. [2] [3].There are many types of developed software that maintain, manage and support this system such as BIStrainer, Cornerstone LMS, EduBrite, etc. [3]. The best example of learning management systems is “Moodle”. It is a free and open-source LMS that has the key role of facilitating educators in designing online courses, managing the contents and providing access to students or any group member. Moodle has introduced a wide range of standards and innovative features like calendars, grade book, course management etc. |
