dc.description.abstract This thesis report presents the 2D seismic interpretation and petrophysical analysis of Ghauspur. It lies in the central Indus basin and located in the southeastern periphery of Indian plate. Geologically, the area is present in the Panu Aqil graben having haze climate. The area is 936km away, southward from Islamabad and from Sukkur it is 70 km away. The fundamental purpose of this dissertation is to describe the subsurface geology through seismic data interpretation and to identify the potential reservoir formation for hydrocarbons with the help of petrophysical analysis. The acquired data was consisted of one strike line and four dip lines and suit of wireline logs of Indus-01B (exploratory well). By using the time-depth chart four horizons have been marked, that are Habib Rahi Limestone, Sui upper Limestone, Sui Main Limestone and Dunghan Limestone. The area lies in extensional regime and shows normal faulting. Interpretation of the seismic lines shows horst and graben structures in the study area. Two way travel time, velocity and depth contours have been made so on to understand the subsurface structure. Using well data the petrophysical analysis is done to know the reservoirs potential. The graphs of volume of shale, volume of clean, average and effective porosity, neutron-density porosity and saturation of hydrocarbon and saturation of water are made to evaluate the zones of interest. Sui Main Limestone and Dunghan Limestone are evaluated on the bases of caliper, gamma ray, resistivity and neutron-density logs. Both are proved water wet reservoirs with the high percentages of average and effective porosities and with low densities. Sui Main Limestone is a main targeted reservoir and producing in nearby areas. Sequence stratigraphy and facies interpretation have been done to take guess about the petrophysical results. The area has great potential for further and various dimensional studies. en_US
