dc.description.abstract | Peridot is a mineral, and minerals are naturally occurring inorganic crystalline elements or compounds having definite physical and chemical composition and when used for beauty, are termed as gemstones. Gemstones occur worldwide but rare. These form by surface water, igneous hydrothermal activity, metamorphism, as mantle material and concentration through action of water. Many other materials, which do not satisfy the norms of the gemstones, e.g., opal, agate, fluorite, jade, malachite, lapis lazuli, jasper and pearl, also come in gemstone category. | en_US |
