Abstract:
Intrusion detection system is a very vast field. This paper reviews the research work so far been done in this field. It discuses the best models so far been developed. It also discusses some of the most attractive open source projects, articles and finally our own effort towards making a software that works on a windows platform and keep the records of all anomalous activities on a host and then send them to the server. Our research will give the readers a strong background and excellent start for taking this field to advanced levels. Software made during our research is developed as part of this research work and is not for corporate use.
