Abstract:
Nowadays Examination scheduling is a complex organizational problem which occurs in many educational institutions across the world. These problems are large, typically involving tens of rooms, hundreds of exams, and thousands of students. Solutions to the problems are typically generated by automated software systems, with the user defining a fixed set of rooms, days and periods within each day. Together with data for students, exams and constraints this information is used to generate solutions that the user may then edit. The DESP designed and implemented for Bahria University provides a facility to manage the complex and time consuming tasks associated with the organization of examinations. This is an essential labor saving tool for Administrator which automates the process of resolving clashes, organizing seating for students and the production of reports such as seating plans and student's date sheet.
