FQVRS Facial Image Query Based Video Retrieval System

Abstract

This project is made for the purpose of the facial image based video retrieval on a Mi- crosoft Windows OS. This project is intended for Pakistan-based news channels which will assist them in logging and video retrievals for future use. The project is also applica- ble for intelligence agencies for surveillance purposes. Initially, the application extracts key frames from a news video. After the extraction of frames, further processing is ap- plied, which includes face detection and logo detection. After the detection phase, the frames are indexed onto a data le and then the data le is used for Face recognition, matching the detected faces from the video, to the ones detected in the input image query. Finally, the relevant video is displayed from the instance a face matches the one from the input image and the news channel logo is displayed.
