Abstract:
Web development broadly refers to the tasks associated with developing website for hosting via internet or intranet. ACRS development included web design, web content development, client and server side scripting and hardware interfacing. ACRS is an automated rent-a-car reservation system which will help our users to hire the vehicle as per their requirements from any showroom in Pakistan (using our system) at any time in few moments. ACRS will aid the showroom owners to keep track of their vehicles by live location service using vehicles on-board hardware (GPS & GSM module kit).There are many rent a car showrooms spanning various municipalities in our country but nearly all of those do not have any kind of fleet management system or online reservation system. Consequently, these primitive showroom facilities inherit many flaws including tracking for vehicles, operating only on cash, failure to provide the booked vehicle on specified date/time. Likewise, on the customer end, providing one to two guarantors, visiting showrooms to check prices and to confirm car availability, only cash payments are the major concerns. ACRS has been developed to provide the solution for all these problems, using on-board kit provides live broadcast of vehicle location and providing user with easy to use hybrid web application nullifies all major concerns of customer side. Development of ACRS is broadly categorized in two parts i.e. hardware and software. With our system, any current or new rent-a-car showroom facility can update their inventory online with their desired rates. The customers can access this system by logging to our ACRS app using their mobile phones or through any PC,i-Pad or similar gadget. The customer will be allowed to view the vehicles, choose any particular vehicle, specify the date and time of pickup & return, make/modify/cancel the booking and online checkout with optional credit card payment. This system is tested with dummy users and found to be working according to our requirement specifications.
