CTI (Common Taxpayer Identifier) Software Management System

Abstract

Thi s is a deve lopment-oriented project. I have chosen the "Common Taxpayet· ld(•ntifirr (CTI) Softw:u·e Management System" of the Central Board of Revenu e. ( invernment of Pakis ta n fo r th is project. The purpose of CTI number issuing scheme of CBR is to g1ve a untque number to taxpa yers who pay more than one tax. The existing system of identifying the taxpa:vcr is i\T 1 i.e. " National Tax Number". But this number is required for income tax onl~· For nt her ta :xes like sales tax, customs duty etc., ditTerent methods are used. For example. :-a les tax department uses sales tax number, while customs have no specific method of .. identifying" a taxpayer. Many companies have no NTN and other ide nti fying identiti es. Therefore there is a need of a unique ident ifier-allotting scheme which can issue a unique id ent i ti er to such taxpayers. Tn automate and facilitate the use and management ofCTI number issuing scheme CBR m:ecls a sotlware system like ''CTI Software Management System".
