Abstract:
The exploration of hydrocarbons, petrophysical analysis has been done in Meyal-10 well in Upper Indus Basin Pakistan. In Meyal-10 drilling has been done from Nagri Formation of Pliocene age up to Data Formation of early Jurrasic age. Logging suits including caliper log, spontaneous potential log, gamma ray log, dual laterolog, microspherically focused log, neutron log, density log and have been run from depth of 12760 ft to 12870 ft. A reservoir zone having thickness of 110 feet (12760 ft – 12870 ft) in Sakesar Formation has been marked on the basis of certain petro physical parameters i.e. low GR log values, high LLD values and neutron-density crossover. Marked zone have low volume shale, low effective porosity and moderate hydrocarbon saturation that is why it is showing fair hydrocarbon potential.
