Abstract:
This research is carried out in Kohat basin in the vicinity of Khushalgarh area, parshai village. Surface and subsurface geological data is incorporated to construct geological cross section. In the study area, four lithological units are recognized ranging in age from Eocene to Miocene. The Formations present in the study area are Nagri Formation (Miocene age), Chinji Formation (Pliocene age) and Kohat and Kuldana Formations (Eocene age). The area is tectonically very complex. There is one thrust fault, named after the village as Parshai thrust.There are number of anticlines and synclines.
