This research is based on the topic "Investment in Iraqi
dinar as perceived by investor", studying the Iraqi
situation and more precisely economic and political
situation before and after the war of Iraq and its effects
on the Iraqi currency . This is the study which is being
made with in the time period of currency f l uctuations as
compared to those studies that are made after the event.
This has made this research more difficult and objective.
This is the study of new Iraqi dinar which has been
launched after the American occupation of Iraq in 2003, the
period in which the Iraqi dinar had really lost its value
which compelled most of the people to invest . This research
is related to the broad aspect of finance and that is the
"Currencies and their f l uctuations ' .
The objectives that are to be achieved through this
research are knowing the overall situation of the Iraq, the
impact of this situation on the Iraqi currency, find out
various risks associated with the Iraqi currency, return
that Iraqi currency can provide to the people, know the
Opinion of different investors about the Iraqi currency &
analyze the behavioral finance aspect of the study.
The type of study is descriptive and aims to explore and
discuss all the factors that are important in contributing
to the Iraqi dinar and its investment . The closed ended
Questionnaire of 12 questions is used as the primary
research instrument. Internet, news papers, libraries &
research articles are used as the secondary data
collection. The sample of 100 respondents was chosen from
Islamabad and Rawalpindi and the surrounding vicinities
including students , business man ,
money changers and analyst.

After an extensive preliminary research the questionnaire
was distributed among the targeted people and interviews
were conducted from the respondents . Sufficient literature
was collected to provide the study with adequate support.
The data was analyzed statistically and the results ,
conclusions and recommendations i.e . were drawn
