Social implications of model village plan on local community of Saidpur

Abstract

Saidpur-once an isolated village now converted in to a tourist attraction is now exposed to the elite class population as well as their life style. This exposure could lead to positive or negative impacts on the people residing there thus this research focuses on studying the impacts of such modification and tries to bring out a better possibility on how these developments can take place. This study seeks to analyse change especially social change in Saidpur Village through the lens of Place Identity by classifying some variables. The selected variables for the analysis include social cohesion, change in sense of place and change in physical infrastructure. Each one of these indicators has been applied to study the lives of the people residing in the village.
